Surrogacy LGTB

Surrogacy for LGTB people, countries, programs & prices

More and more LGBT couples are turning to surrogacy to become parents. Thanks to this method of assisted reproduction, gay and lesbian couples can achieve their dreams in a very reasonable time. The countries where same-sex couples can go are practically the same as those where single people can go.

Surrogacy for gays and child marriages

Gay couples considering surrogacy have different options, the most recommended being Mexico, Colombia and Czech Republic. These are the most popular destinations:

Colombia and Mexico

Colombia and Mexico are two countries where gay couples will be able to carry out a surrogacy process.

Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is another option for gay couples who wish to undergo a procedure, but always bearing in mind that the procedure is not carried out entirely in this country, as the surrogate comes to the Czech Republic from Ukraine approximately two months before the birth.

USA

In some US states such as Illinois and California surrogacy is completely legal also for gay couples.

Argentina

Argentina is another destination where young couples could go to carry out a surrogacy process, but always bearing in mind that surrogacy is altruistic, so the surrogate would only be able to receive compensation for her expenses.

Ukraine

Ukraine is not an option for male couples, as one of the requirements is heterosexual marriage.

Georgia

Georgia, like Ukraine, is also not an option for gay couples, as one of the requirements is to be a heterosexual couple whose woman is unable to carry a healthy pregnancy to term.

Greece

In Greece, male couples will not be able to carry out a surrogacy procedure, as one of the requirements is that there must be a woman in the couple who is no more than 50 years old and who is not able to gestate.

Surrogacy for lesbians and all-girl marriages

Surrogacy is not usually used by female or lesbian couples, because statistically speaking it is very likely that one of them will be able to carry a baby, but there are always exceptions. For these particular cases, surrogacy is also possible in certain countries.

Colombia and Mexico

Lesbian or gay couples will be able to carry out a surrogacy process in some Mexican states such as Cancun or Mexico City. In Colombia they will also have this possibility, but it is important that one of them can prove a medical report demonstrating their inability to achieve a healthy gestation process.

Argentina

In Argentina, those lesbians or couples of girls who need it, may resort to surrogacy, but only if they reach a non-commercial agreement with the surrogate.

USA

Surrogacy for lesbian and all-girl couples is regulated and permitted in some US states, such as California and Illinois.

Greece

In Greece, surrogacy procedures for female couples have the same requirements as for single women. One of the women must be registered at least temporarily in the country, be under 50 years of age and provide a medical report attesting to her reproductive incapacity.

Surrogacy in Greece is altruistic, which means that the surrogate mother can only receive compensation equivalent to the expenses incurred in the process.

Czech Republic

In the Czech Republic, female couples will not be able to carry out surrogacy.

Ukraine and Georgia

In both Georgia and Ukraine, surrogacy is only allowed for heterosexual couples or marriages.
